Goodbye 2010 ! Welcome 2011!

I am amazed at how fast this year has gone by.  It's true, the older you get the faster time goes.  This year has been fantastic.  We have had many adventures and saw miracles happen.  We have had a lot of laughs and tears. I am looking forward to seeing what this new year brings.  I have several goals that I would like to accomplish.  As a result to these new goals. I will not be on blogspot and Facebook as much.  My #1 priority is my family.  I only get on here when Dylan is napping, but I have other things I should be doing.  I will post pictures and little blurbs on here once in awhile for family that is out of state. I hope and pray everyone has a safe and fun New Years. May 2011 bring you wonderful health, happiness and all the blessings that you desire.

Christmas

We had TONS of fun!  Dylan has been teething and not a happy boy at all these last few days.  I can't believe that he will be 4 months next week.  He is growing up too fast.  We took a video if opening Christmas presents at our house.  So I don't have any pictures of that.  :(  We went to grandma and grandpas house.  We had a really yummy breakfast. Dylan was not happy and wanted to go home.  I felt so bad for him.  We weren't able to go to Bens families house due to Dylan being so grumpy.  I can't wait until he gets all of his teeth in.  This is so awful! I hope everyone had an awesome Christmas!

Journaling

My blog has become my journal for Dylan.  How sad is that? I always wrote in a journal every night. Since Dylan was born I haven't been so diligent. I am getting so excited for Christmas this year.  I know Dylan isn't going to remember it, but pictures will be fun.  He is a spoiled little boy.  We have tons of gifts under the tree and most of them are his.  We got him a bumbo which he opened early.  A TON of clothes and a bunch of toys.  I don't know why we bother with all the toys.  He is entertained with other things besides toys.

For Christmas Ben got us an early Christmas gift.  3D glasses for our TV. It is crazy that 2 pairs of glasses and a thing for the TV was $450 dollars. There isn't many movies out there in 3D yet either. Each 3D movie is 40 dollars.  Oh well, I LOVE it.  It is super fun. We don't really watch it much where we are busy playing with Dylan.

We went to Ben's Christmas work party.  It was a lot of fun.  They had the girls from Americas got Talent Christina and Ali Christensen. They were really good. They also had the Mozart Group.  They are from Poland and absolutely wonderful.  They are so funny.  I recommend doing a YouTube search for them.  We had front row, center seats.  We lucked out!  My mom babysat Dylan while we were there. It was hard for me to leave him.

I am so thankful for this time of year. May we all remember what this Christmas season is all about.

3 months

WOW!  Dylan turned 3 months yesterday.  He is getting so big.  Yesterday we had a full day.  I took Dylan into Falls Valley. I turned in a formal letter letting them know I am not coming back.  Dylan got to meet eveyone and he was so good. He smiled at mostly everyone.  He is such a happy little boy. We then went and picked Ben up and went out to lunch. We came home and we watched the Santa Claus 3.  When Ben got home my sister and I went Christmas shopping.  I found a TON of cute clothes at JCpennys for Dylan.  I got 5 outfits for $25.00.  They are so cute too!  The other day I went to Macys and found the cutest outfit for Dylan.  I told myself I wouldn't spend more then $20.00 on an outfit until he started walking, but when I saw the outfit I fell in love with it.  I figured it was cheaper then the outfit I was going to get him at Gymboree.  (which I LOVE that store and can't wait for Dylan to start walking so I can buy all those cute clothes) So I spent $45 on the little outfit at Macy's.  I figured he can get his Christmas pictures taken in it. He can also wear it to all the Christmas parties we will be going to.

Today we put up the Christmas tree.  Well I put it up while Dylan slept.  I can't wait to get all the gifts wrapped and put under the tree. When Dylan woke up we listened to Christmas songs while I sang to him.  He just laughed and laughed. I guess I sing funny. I can't wait for Christmas this year!

Thanksgiving 2010

This is a few days late, but I wanted to share what I am so thankful for.  I am thankful for my family.  I am so glad that I have an eternal family.  I am so thankful that we have a healthy happy little boy.  I am thankful for a husband who work so hard.  I am grateful to be able to stay at home with my baby.  I am thankful for our house that keeps us warm.  I am just thankful for everything.  :) OK, Dylan turned 12 weeks old on Thanksgiving.  It is crazy how fast time has gone. I was suppose to return back to work on the 1st of December, but staying home with Dylan is more important.  I am kind of sad in a way too.  I have worked with the school district for 11 years.  I started out as a substitute while going to school. Anyway, Thanksgiving day.  The weather has been awful. It has snowed a good foot.  We went to my parents for dinner.  My mom cooked the whole meal.  It turned out so good.  Dylan had a hard time with all the noise.  He tried sleeping on and off.  He did really well during dinner.  My sister gave him a bottle before we all started eating so he was content.  We played the traditional candy bar game and luckily he was asleep during that time.  It is such a fun game.  We all bring a bunch of candy bars. We put them in the middle of the table and we roll dice.  If you get a 7, 11 or doubles you get to choose a candy bar. Once all the candy bars are gone you set a timer for 10 minutes. You keep rolling the dice and if you want a candy bar that somebody has you have to say there name and the candy bar.  Its fun. We were going to go to Ben's families after dinner, but Dylan started getting really fussy so we came home. The next day we spent the whole day at his grandmas.  It was nice to see everyone.  Dylan was having another rough time due to all the noise.  Ben's aunt Karen who is from North Carolina is leaving soon.  So the next day we got together and she colored my hair for me.  It turned out cute.  Its so weird having my hair so blond. I really like it though. Its definitely different. She put blond chunks through the front and the bottom part is black. Its cute. :)  It has been a nice Thanksgiving break.  Today we stayed home from church to just relax and let Dylan take it easy.  He has been so over stimulated the last few days.  I will post pictures soon.

11 weeks

Sleeping in his big boy crib
Time really does fly by too fast.  Dylan is 11 weeks old today.  He is such a good boy.  He started sleeping in his crib Saturday night and he is doing fantastic.  He sleeps 8-12 hours at night.  It is so nice.  I LOVE it!

He is getting so big!

It looks a lot smaller in the pictures
This morning after I let the cats upstairs I went into the living room.  I noticed something on the floor by the fish tank.  I turned the light on and I couldn't believe my eyes. It was a fish.  I was like what the heck.  I was in shock.  Ben had just left for work and so I called him.  I wanted him to come home and take care of it.  It creeped me out. Of course I didn't make him come clear home because he had just got to work.  I had to get a ton of paper towels and just scoop the thing up and throw it in a bag.  I took it outside and sent it in the garbage.  I feel bad I wish I could have sent him off to sea, but he is too big to flush.

Before
After
A couple of days ago I got a burst of energy.  I decided I needed to clean out our bedroom closet.  I have been avoiding this for awhile.  I finally got it done and now I need to make a trip to DI.

Christmas

My sister came over yesterday and got me into the Christmas spirit already. We watched Christmas movies and put Dylan in the cutest Santa hat.  We were going to make Christmas crafts, but we ran out of time.  She brought over a cute fiberoptic tree for me. The other night Ben and I went and got a few Christmas gifts for Dylan.  I wrapped them and stuck them under the little tree. Ben wont let me put the big tree up until after Thanksgiving.  I am excited to make yummy treats for my neighbors and friends.  I am going to make cookie dough balls.  I am so excited!  Here is the recipe.

1 (17.5 oz) box or pouch chocolate chip cookie dough mix

8 ounces cream cheese, softened
½ cup butter, softened
2 cups chopped pecans, divided

Combine cookie mix, cream cheese, butter, and 1 cup pecans in a large mixer bowl. Mix at low speed for 1 minute and then on medium speed, until well combined. Shape into a ball, roll in reserved cup of pecans, then wrap & chill for at least 3 hours. Serve with vanilla wafers or graham crackers.

I hope they like it.  I am so excited to start making Dylan's Christmas PJ's.  I am going to start a tradition in our family. On Christmas eve we will open our Christmas PJ's and then the next morning we can open gifts in our PJ's.  I am going to make matching pajama bottoms for the whole family so we can get pictures taken in them.  I am excited to get my sewing machine out and start doing the whole stay at home mom thing.  It has been so nice to be able to stay at home with Dylan.  He is so much fun!  He rolled over the other day and hasn't done it again.  He is starting to crawl around too.  It is crazy how strong he is.  He is only 10 weeks old!

Tonight is the first night Dylan is going to sleep in his big boy crib.  I am sad, I have loved having him next to me in the bedroom.  He has grown out of his bassinet. I remember the first time I put him in the bassinet and how small he was.  I thought to myself it will be awhile til he grows out of this. Boy was I wrong! I am kind of looking forward to getting the bassinet out of my room though.  I am tired of stubbing my toe on the thing. LOL I hope he does well tonight.  He has been sleeping through the night since he was a month old, I hope he continues to sleep through the night. :)
